Determination of the migration test temperature (SML and GM) for microwave applications

Tests of specific migration (SML) and overall migration (OM) on plastic articles which are intended for the use in microwave ovens shall be carried out in accordance with EN 1186-1 under the appropriate time and temperature conditions in a conventional oven. For this purpose, the temperature occurring under the worst foreseeable conditions of use at the food/packaging interface during heating of the article under the specified conditions of use shall be determined. This is done using a calibrated microwave oven at the specified heating power.
