DSC/thermal analysis: melting and crystallisation behaviour

DSC run (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) for determination of crystal melting point Tpm and melting enthalpy delta H (further characteristics, e. g. crystallisation temperature Tc, depending on material, available on request) by means of two heating runs.

Test Method Group: Material analysis

Norms:
  • DIN EN ISO 11357-3 (2025-09) Plastics – Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) – Part 3: Determination of temperature and enthalpy of melting and crystallization

Required Sample Amount: Minimum 100 mg (min. 100 g for measurements on material to be ground)

Standard Tests

DSC heating up to 200°C (for PE, PP, etc.)

Specific Norm: DIN EN ISO 11357-3

This method is common for all kinds of articles made out of PE and it's copolymers as well for PP (e.g. films, granules, moulded parts, etc.), other test parameters on request.

DSC heating up to 300°C (for laminated films, PA, PET, etc.)

Specific Norm: DIN EN ISO 11357-3

This method is common for all kinds of articles made out raw materials which are more heat resistant (e.g. laminated films, PA, PET, EVOH etc.), other test parameters on request.
