Required Sample Amount: Sample over total width of material, minimum length: 0,5 m

Standard Tests

tear strength- trapezoid

Specific Norm: DIN EN 17679

Quasistastic test method by using a tensile tester, suitable for characterisation of all rigid and soft plastic films up to 1 mm thickness. Not suitable for brittle materials. Can also be carried out in the thermal chamber.

tear strength -Graves

Specific Norm: DIN ISO 34-1

Quasistastic test method by using a tensile tester, particularly suitable for characterisation of elastomeric- films or - sheet up to 1 mm thickness. Not suitable for brittle materials. Can also be carried out in the thermal chamber.

tear strength DIN EN ISO 6383-1 (trouser test, sample width 50 mm)

Specific Norm: DIN EN ISO 6383-1

Quasistastic test method by using a tensile tester, suitable for characterisation of all rigid and soft plastic films up to 1 mm thickness. Not suitable for brittle materials. Can also be carried out in the thermal chamber.

tear strength of folded edges, trapezoid- method

Specific Norm: IVLV Merkblatt No. 6 Teil 9

Quasistatic test method by using a tensile tester, particularly suitable for characterisation of the resistance of folded edges of flexible films. Not suitable for brittle materials. Can also be carried out in the thermal chamber.

tear strength ASTM (trouser test, sample width 25 mm)

Specific Norm: ASTM D 1938

Quasistastic test method by using a tensile tester, suitable for characterisation of all rigid and soft plastic films up to 1 mm thickness. Not suitable for brittle materials. Can also be carried out in the thermal chamber.
